DID YOU USED TO THINK "BELAY THAT ORDER" WAS "DELAY THAT ORDER"

CaptainWacky

I want to smell dark matter
WHEN YOU HEARD SOMEONE SAY "BELAY THAT ORDER" DID YOU THINK THEY WERE SAYING "DELAY"? FUCK YOU THEY MEAN DIFFERENT THINGS.

be·lay
biˈlā/
verb
1.
fix (a running rope) around a cleat, pin, rock, or other object, to secure it.
2.
Nautical slang
stop; enough!.
"“Belay that, mister. Man your post.”"
noun
1.
an act of belaying.
"the leader may require belays to tackle more difficult sections"
2.
a spike of rock or other hard material used for belaying.

What if someone belays an order, but then decides actually it was a good order and gives it again. Would they say that they belayed it in the Captain's Log, or that they delayed it?

I'd say they were an indecisive captain and ended up a villainous guest star instead of a recurring char with their own ship.

I DID WACKY DID YOU HEAR ME I SAID I THOUGHT THAT AS WELL WACKY YES WACKY I SAID I THOUGHT THIS TOO THAT MEANS WE ARE THE SAME PERSON OR SOME SUCH SHIT LIKE THAT.
