I REALLY LIKE THIS NEW DOCTOR. I like his age. i like how tall he is. I like his voice. I like his hair. Be nice to him guys. I’m excited for what we will see from him!

For a minute I thought it might have been Rufus Hound.

Then I thought it might have been Leigh Francis, with the Doctor finally being ginger.

I think Capaldi is a fine actor, I also believe he will be a one year Doctor.

So tune in next year to see who will be the 13th, or to see if 50 years of continuality gets pulled down the plughole, and the Doctor reboots to his first life again.

He's old and he's strange looking. All sharp featured and long-faced. Sure, that's all in keeping with BBC's previous choices for Dr. Who. I was hoping they could break out of the rut and pick someone with eye candy appeal. *sigh*

Whisky, the kid was from Outnumbered. I don't know why he was on it. Nor Liza Tarbuck or Rufus Hound. I mean the whole thing seems like it was rushed into development, but you'd think there'd be people lining up to be on that sofa.

Anyway, great choice. It's a shame the bookies (or leakers) spoilt it, but it was still an exciting reveal and I'm sure he'll be great. Will make a change to have an older actor with a little more gravitas. And hopefully less relationships with companions.

He might be strange looking but he's still better looking than Matt Smith (although Smith looks a lot better after getting that mop cut off.) He's a hell of a good actor too, so this might be another Eccleston-type year. I liked Eccleston's Doctor.

People were going to piss and moan no matter who was chosen.
