Doctor Who Series 9 - September 19th

Yeah this looks pretty good. Good enough that I'm going to host a season premiere viewing party. Yeah, any excuse for a party. :)

I hate how they're keeping Capaldi's hair though. They should slick it back old school instead of the poufy curls. Give him a slight pompadour.
 
Did anyone watch the special last night on BBC America? 90 minutes x 2 because they had to have the episodes hosted by this Hanna Hart person? I dunno why, but she irked the hell out of me with her terrible quips and terrible hosting. And the fan girl and her song. I think my ears bled a little.

I kinda know who Hanna Hart is from Tumblr, I guess she's youtube famous?
 
I know they do it to grab attention and ratings, but it really annoys me when they announce at the beginning of a season that someone's leaving. It'd be a lot more dramatic if it was kept secret and we found out at the same time the characters did.
 
It's really hard to keep such thing a secret anymore and when they try everyone just accuses them of lying. See Harington, Kit.
 
It was good and well paced but hard to judge as a story without seeing part two.

Moffat's done the "The Doctor thinks this is definitely the day he's going to die!" thing so many times that it's like self parody at this point. But it didn't really take up much of the episode.

The TARDIS can actually be destroyed by a few Daleks shooting it? Weird that that's never worked before! Or maybe that whole end scene was on a Dalek holodeck.

Missy had some funny lines.

I guess we are lucky the universe didn't explode again.

I think it was good when I was watching it, but now that its over the whole thing does seem very familiar to what we have seen before.

Plus the cliffhanger is a bit of a none event, we know he wont kill a kid, that is pretty much show over if that happens.
