DONALD RUMSFELD RESIGNS!

Bush is announcing it during his conference.

Either way, the Republican ship is sinking and one of the biggest rats is running for cover.

You have to wonder if this would be happening had the elections gone differently.

The people called the administration's bluff on last week's quote about the elections not affecting the course in Iraq.

I don't think so. Rumsfeld and Bush were pretty adamant that he would not step down even faced with pressure from elected Democrats. I think Rummy even said it would be tantamount to running away.

I bet he's setting some land speed records. :P

Bush is on TV, he looks like he's been gang-raped by gorillas. He made a lame joke about calling Nancy Pelosi and recommending some Republican interior decorators for her new office. Crickets.

Honestly, he's trembling, I think he's gonna break down in tears once he gets offstage...

I don't think Bush has ever had a press conference were he's crapped a bigger pile of bullshit then now.

I loved his "stay the course" bullshit.

'Stay the course doesn't mean to stay the course."

"You said you were surprised and disappointed by the election [something?] Does that mean that after 6 years you are out of touch with the America people?"

"We need a guest worker program to bring in workers to do the jobs Americans are not doing."

What a slap in the face.

Bush "Now we can put elections behind us..". That's not the only thing behind you. The long-handled shepherd's crook slowly extending behind your neck is also behind you on stage-left, Bush.
