+13 ... lol!
I wonder how the modern computers fare if the Cray was +9.
Ah, I see what you mean now. Random thoughts:
- basing the SQ on processing rate as one variable is logical, but doesn't really encompass biological intelligence.
- A network of today's supercomputer might have a rather high SQ, but that doesn't mean that there is any chance of developing communalness, imo, since you'd need consciousness for that first, and that's still not found in silicone-based structures, right?
- I think that it's not only the different SQ that will render any communication with advanced extraterrestrial beings rather pointless - in order to communicate, you need a foundation of shared experiences and perception. That's why it is harder to communicate with cetacea than with, say, dogs. Unless the extraterrestrials have very similar life conditions, there will be no common ground to communicate about.
- Let's for a second start to fabulate... if God as the highest being has a SQ of +50, it sure would explain why we can't comprehend his ways or why he doesn't seem to give a fuck about us. Maybe someone a long time ago actually "saw" extraterrestrials, and that was the start of theisms worldwide
