I am tempted to sticky all of these. It looks so dry there, does it ever rain? Was your nose dry all the time? Was the heat comfortable? Was there a breeze? What did it smell like? If you closed your eyes in each of these pictures what would you hear? What was your favorite part?

It rains, just not very often, like elsewhere in the Mediterranean. The Hellenic climate isn't altogether different from other parts of the orient, namely Turkey and Lebanon. A dry nose? LOL, that's an interesting expression and one I've never heard before. About the same as it always is. The heat was only a bit above my SoCal home, and about the same as Turkey, but unlike Turkey there was rarely any breeze to speak of, making it a bit less comfortable, though still eminently bearably. Some areas smell like trash, others dust, still more like any other city. I'd hear the sound of birds, cars, and people talking. The best part was definitely wandering the back streets and drinking exotic liquors, but my favourite part archeologically speaking was definitely the National Archeological Museum, though as a Byzantine geek, the Byzantine Museum was pretty great, too.
