His winning just soured me on the whole season. I don't even watch the reruns now. And it's not just that I didn't like him, I honestly thought half of his collection was bullshit.
The real reason he won was that the whole group of designers this season weren't that good. And the only good ones were all one-note, including Jeffrey. So it came down to which outfits would be the least boring in a photo spread in Elle. Nina Garcia's was probably the only vote that mattered this year.
But what pissed me off the most about Jeffrey is his post-win interviews at Bravo and EW.com. He claims that he decided beforehand to construct this SOB persona for the show as a strategy. (Interestingly, he knows Santino, who probably coached him on all the finer points) If this is a cop out attempt for him to backtrack without apologizing, I call bullshit. If it's true and he really did do that, I call BULLSHIT even louder. PR is supposed to be a reality show that doesn't indulge in that kind of forced, staged crap. But, there's no Santa Claus and Daniel V will never marry me...
I don't know what Tim was talking about when he kept saying "this is the strongest group yet!" If anything it was the worst. I'll be in no hurry to get the DVD for this season. And I hope S3 is an abberation, and not the beginning of a downward trend for the show. It would be ruining something that was really good...
