If you are a waitress and you see someone, a customer, anyway, you see them one night with a person. Then you see them a few days later only with a different crowd, do you say, "Hi! Welcome back!" Or, "Didn't I just see you?"
Or do you know better?
Is it really thier responsibility to know who the fuck you are with etc etc and are you really supposed to pretend that you dont' know them? Seriuosly.

Most waitresses do that on purpose because recognition in theory leads to a feeling of artificial bonding and therefore bigger gratuity. Like strippers that make every customer think they fell in love with him.
