I've decided I will no longer visit that board. It has been an uncomfortable fit for sometime but these assinine rules have made it unbearable. I've asked that my account be deleted but if it isn't and I slip and go over there again, may there be a pox on my head for subjecting myself to that shit again.
 
I saw you putting the boots to some moron over there earlier. I was wondering what happened, I guess that you've finally had it.

Whenever I feel this way, I give it a rest for a few days. Or years, in the case of some boards. :)
 
why subject yourself to something that is not comfortable.
Take a break, and stop spending energy on it. You can spend that far better elsewhere.
 
I am so confused by the rules I can't make heads or tails of them. Unless you post as if you have doubled your Prozac meds, you will eventually run afoul of the shifting rules and get a warning. See how everyone posts *happy* posts with a lot of hugs and pats on the back. No one dares to say what they really feel or you get branded with being a troublemaking malcontent worthy of being called a *jerk* or *troll* for daring to not march the happy party line. I see no one from staff has made a comment about Tom Sawyer being called a *jerk* in absentia. Don't kid yourself, they will just let it go and ignore a more acceptable member's name calling as long as it is against someone from here.
 
I don't think that's true at all. I consider it a fine art to be able to blast someone away like the way DS and GTC do over there for example. I think it's a sharpening of ability to coherently post there, flame the fuck out of others, break every rule in the book and never even get looked at crosswise. Course, I haven't acheived that yet there, but I FUCKING BET IT CAN BE DONE!

I'm just sick of their crap over there. This has been going on since Ogami used to post over there regularly, through when I used to post on OT, through Appreciate threatening to suspend me for spamming. This recent spate of suspensions just sickens me. Nothing personal against MuseZack, but he started with the personal attack Ru got warned for but he didn't. Banapis says "staff overlooked." The very same post they warned Ru for quoted MuseZack so they didn't just overlook it - they deliberately ignored it. CU/TS was recently suspended for a threat - "this is the only warning you'll get." Yet Nonny posts "them's fightin' words" and not so much as a peep out of the mods. Darth gets suspended for non-sensical punctuation deemed pornographic while Lord of the Sword uses expletives like a drunken sailor but because he swaps out letters with punctuation and symbols it is a-okay. Then there is the regular crowd that will come out and tell me how fair it is, how it isn't the same because hey, they do it and they haven't been warned or suspended. Duh, that is what I've been saying since way back when Ogami was there - the rules are not applied fairly. I meant it when I said out of the two, TK is more decent. Yeah, so there aren't many rules around here, but the big thing is everybody gets treated equally.
 
Oh Ogami, right. I'd almost forgotten how much he angered people on EI. Then he goes off into the military just in time for the TKers to wander over. I wonder how Ogami is doing in boot camp? I wonder if he irritates his superiors the way he did the general population and TPTB at EI?
 
The cool thing about Ogami was he could be a very interesting, intelligent, and convincing poster - a very powerful writer. But, he'd get engaged in a conversation with one of the privileged, the conversation would get heated on both sides, he'd get slapped by the mods and the other side wouldn't. His frustrations got the better of him and instead of leaving the shit where it lay, he'd pick it up again and again. Ogami would fit well on TK - give as good as he got, and without the unfair reprisals he'd eventually settle down into good debates instead of always defending his position to defend his position. I hope he is doing well in the military. He is an older person with a keen intelligence. He is more than a bit an individual thinker but I believe he was in the military before and knows the ropes. I doubt he'll go back to ExIsle and it is to their loss, not his.

I once welcomed Ogami back after he reappeared from a long suspension and absence. I received a PM from one of the Admins questioning me about why I did that. Now, you know I don't post much at EI, and I certainly don't post anything controversial. But I was a little taken aback by the PM.

I learned through observing EI first before daring to post, that one does not leave the herd or call attention to oneself unless you are one of the Chosen Ones. Not so surprising is how humans form groups and societies in grade schools that are mirrored in adulthood. You are sorted into groups based on popularity and are browbeaten into bowing to TPTB. I was never much of a follower as a child, and it certainly has gotten me into a lot of trouble in my lifetime. But I appreciate the highly individualistic person who refuse to allow others to force them into little boxes not of their own design.
