Face/Off, Con Air, The Rock

I want to smell dark matter
WHY ARE THERE NO ACTION MOVIES THAT GOOD ANYMORE? Even without Nicholas Cage it should be possible.

Too much CGI, not enough ludicrous chase scenes!

Seriously, I'm not usually one to compare about CGI, but nineties action movies feel more...solid.

I have watched Con Air at least 20 times. I love that movie.

"Put the Bunneh back in the box."

Wasnt there CGI in con air, I am thinking with Colm in the helicopters in some scenes.

Watched a bit of it last night, I really must get round to watching the uncut DVD soon

There might be bits and pieces. Definitely some blue screen, but nothing like the overuse of CGI in the climax of Die Hard 4, or the entire Transformers movie (yeah, I know it would have been difficult to do the fights without CG, but come on...).

Sorry about your car.

I think its the same car Kirk drives off a cliff in the movie, or if it isnt, it should have been

There should been a spin-off movie with Meaney's character hunting Steve Buscemi's paedo character.

Dante's Peek and Deep Impact were the death knell for the 90's action movie schtick. They tipped the action & comedy / melodrama scale too far towards melodrama and it fell apart faster than you could say "maverick."

Yeah, who cares about Tea Leoni and her long last dad when the world is about to be DESTROYED?

At least Belker from Hill Street Blues got to go out cool, sitting on a bench reading a newspaper while a mile high tidle waves comes down the street.
