Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer

Avoided like the plague = win

My love of comics started with F4.

The first movie was an epic failure.

Archibald hit it on the head... I was wanting to see how they did Galactus and all I get is the angel of death from "The Ten Commandments."

They did the Silver Surfer well... why stop there?

BTW, there are plenty of good actresses who are real blondes or are at least convincing with a dye job. Why take a spic and dye her hair and give her colored contact lenses? She looked stupid, like an albino nigger or something.

Never got into the F4. My Marvel titles were:

The Avengers
ROM
The Micronauts
The X-Men
The Defenders
Doctor Strange
Iron Man... sometimes
Power Man and Iron Fist

I prefer DC Comics.

I liked both F4 films, they really should have kept Galacticus as he was, but I can see how that might not have worked well in live action

Galactus = cloud = FAIL.

I disagree. I always felt the comic version of Galactus to be a little silly.

Why would a being left over from a previous universe, who needed to consume planets in order to survive, run around in a stupid helmet with horns and a giant "G" on his chest?

It better than the first movie, which only got Doom wrong in the first place.

if you don't rely on just the eye candy, then all comic book movies can and will have a certain lure to them.........anything that has nothing to do with reality sends me to my favorite place........i get enough of reality every day

They got rid of the G after awhile --and remember: Looking at Galactus, your mind only saw what it could comprehend, and every race (maybe even every person) saw him differently, usually as a bizarre version of themselves.

You could also argue that he was humanoid because his previous-universe being was humanoid.

Ain't that the truth --and yet it brought him back exactly the same for the second.

I'm inclined to think they're bringing back not only SS but Galactus as well for the next film, and then you might see a humanoid version --remember, you did get a gimpse of that helmet in silhouette, when the Surfer finally came after him. I think it'll be a setup for when Frankie Raye volunteers to be Nova.

They also should have saved the whole Super Skrull power-sharing ability for the next film.

Speaking of Skrulls; if they bring them in for the next film --especially if they're refugees from Galactus destroying their world, which eventually happened in the comic-- it has the possiblity of being cool, and maybe even redeeming the franchise a little.

Last thought: I had a weakness for super-SUPER-powered Thing, when he got all spikey, and strong enough to defeat even the Hulk. I'm probably alone in wanting to see them bring that in, but what the hell else are you going to do with the character?

Ok, I downloaded the movie and watched it. Not happy. Very, not happy.

Yeah, but....

I got nothin'....

Yeah, Surfer's coming back. No doubt.

Yeah, but then the team wouldn't have had an internal turmoil/hardship to overcome. Nor, would they have had the plot device which allowed them to defeat Victor in the end.

Wow, that's a well-thought, lucid argument. They'll never go with it.

I JUST WANNA SEE WORLD WAR HULK!!!

Annihilus & Blastaar would be cool --just these 'roided out, screaming galactic scumbags-- for maybe an opening battle or something. They couldn't carry a whole film as villains, and you'd NEVER be able to call them by name.

Franklin Richards is at least two films away, if they bother. First she's gotta get knocked up NUDGENUDGEWINKWINKWINKWINKWINK
