Anybody watching? If not, you definitely should be. Series is based loosely on the original movie, done by the Coen brothers still, and has a very quirky and cinematic aspect to it. The first season was kind of an homage to the film with many similar elements but very distinctly NOT A REBOOT. They have a key plot point that specifically calls out to the original film in a very satisfying way and I almost suggest watching the film first as part of the binge viewing process. It's too good.
The second season creates a whole new story line in prequel fashion using supporting characters from season 1 and is set in the late seventies. It's even better than the first year so far and seeing characters you know end badly later is a little sad. Plus, Bruce Campbell does a pretty good cameo as a major late-seventies public figure.
Finally: yes I know tv show discussion is more frequently minefield territory. But c'mon, the show is literally set IN the Badlands of the Dakotas and Minnesota. How could I not?
