Its not bad, Lloyd is the only character they ended up using, and there are no FBI agents, everything is to do with the scientists at CERN, although some of the central concepts are still there, like a guy trying to prevent his murder, the biggest change is that the flashfoward shows everyone 21 years into the future, not six months, plus the whole "being quite good" thing that separates it from the show.

Plus there was no stupid "it was a conspiracy angle, it was a fluke, some neutrinos hit the earth at the same time they were looking for the higgs boson, and that caused the event
 
What is Flashforward with Mark Benford? Pointless, I say!
 
Just typical tv exec thinking, take a popular book, throw out almost everything from it for the series, then wonder why the series is not popular.
 
I think the biggest problem is that they didn't make it GOOD.
 
That's the gist, they had something good, then removed all the bits that made it good.

There is only one cop in the entire book, and even then he is not a cop for most of it.

The character that gets murdered the day before the time of the flashforward has his corpse examined by a coroner in front of this german cop, who because the flashforward was 21 years in the future, was just a little kid, fucked up by witnessing the autopsy.

Two people who didnt know each other saw each other fucking in their flashforward, so rather than keep missing each other as in the Doctor and the japanese girl, they ring each other up pretty much straight away, agree to meet, then start fucking, since they know they already will anyway.

And in the blackout, no tv cameras or recording devices work at all, so there is no bullshit people with magic rings walking around.
 
I had a flashforward where I was drinking coffee and fucking around on the internet; so, I figured why fight it?

If I were to write a novelization of FlashForward, it would simply be the phrase, "BECAUSE I WAS LOADED, OK?!?!?" over and over again for 784 pages.
 
That would be ONE GOOD BOOK!
