'Fight Club' Actor Leto Breaks Nose
Actor's fans got a little out of hand
March 5, 2007
Jared Leto, the actor-musician known for his pretty face, has had a setback.
The "Chapter 27" star broke his nose while perfoming with his band, 30 Seconds to Mars, in El Paso, Texas on Thursday, March 1, reports People.
The accident occurred when he ran into the crowd and was rushed by adoring fans.
"I've been producing shows for 25 years and this was one of the scariest moments I have witnessed," tour organizer Kevin Lyman said of the melee in a statement. "We hope Jared's injuries are all minor and that he has a speedy recovery."
Regardless, Leto finished the show, but then checked into the hospital to see if he needed any treatment. Besides the broken nose, he also hurt his food and suffered minor injuries to his face and body.
The performance was part of the Taste of Chaos tour.
Leto, 35, first made a name for himself as the disaffected Jordan Catalano on ABC's "My So-Called Life." From there, he moved to films, and his resume includes "Prefontaine," "The Thin Red Line," "Fight Club," "Girl, Interrupted," "Requiem for a Dream," "Panic Room" and "Alexander." "Chapter 27," in which Leto plays John Lennon killer Mark David Chapman, made its premiere at January's Sundance Film Festival.
Heal well, sweet prince.
