Friday the 13th: Worth buying on bare-bones DVD?

I'm taking the day off Friday and I thought I'd celebrate the date by watching the original "Friday the 13th."

I'm not much into renting these days, especially when it comes to classic horror. Is this worth a purchase as a bare-bones DVD (ten bucks at the local Wal-Mart) or should I go all-out for whatever special edition I'm sure is out?

Alright Vladdie, let me tell you why.

The flick's good for it's time, but it's a little tame by today's standards and not a little too derivative of the first Halloween, to boot.

But it's a fun little flick to watch on a day off, as you've said, and it's not a bad film to keep in the library if you get the cheap version.
