Fringe

Tisiphone

Elitist Redheaded Trollop
I feel so ashamed of myself for not giving this a chance when it first started. Either it was because I can't get over Joshua Jackson being in "Dawson's Creek" that kept me from it, or it must have been on against something else which held priority.

EITHER WAY I AM DISGUSTED WITH MYSELF

The Science Channel has begun airing it (in order, thank the gods) and I'm totally hooked. If I still had Netflix I could get caught up.

FLAME ME IF YOU MUST I WON'T BEGRUDGE YOU

I can't flame you, I did the same thing with Babylon 5. Didn't start watching until season 3.

I love Fringe, but I think like a lot of shows it gets better once they move past the freak of the week style episodes. They did come up with a lot of cool ideas for those, but after a while they got too predictable.

The main story arc is really good, and moves in some very bold directions. There are only a few episodes left now until the show ends FOREVER but we've no real idea what'll happen.

The only letdown for me is Joshua Jackson. Or it could be his character, I'm not sure. He just seems really drab and he's constantly explaining the plot to the audience in a very forced sounding way. All the other actors are great so it tends to stand out.

Anna Torv's acting has improved a LOT since the first season. John Noble makes the show... he and the actress that plays Astrid are great together.

I've watched it on hulu since it started and they used to get into some crazy/obsessive discussions in the comments area on the meanings of the apples, frogs etc they'd show before the commercial breaks. I'm lucky to remember the plot from one week to the next much less what a split second visual means. I think when it's all over, I'll start at the beginning and marathon view it, I usually get more out of a show that way.

I have done the exact same thing as you, Tis. I never watched even one episode until Science Channel started showing them. Now I have 3 hours of Fringe a week, and it's pretty fantastic, ESPECIALLY since there's not anything else worth watching on Tuesdays.

I think I didn't watch Fringe because it was on the same time something else I like is on.
