It seems Americans are quite concerned about their country's security. As of January 23, 2006, anyone entering the USA requires a passport. Fair enough, but I say it is time not only does Canada continue with the arming of our border guards with weapons, but we make the Americans come nowhere near our border without their passports, and a bloody valid reason for being Canada. If they have neither a fucking passport, nor a good reason for coming here, I suggest our border guards pull out their brand new weapons, and shove the cold, steel barrels into the temple of said American. The American should then be told to get his slimy ass back into the USA and see fit never to visit Canada again.

In short, fuck the USA.

Passports Needed To Fly To The USA, Starting January 23.
Travellers flying to the United States will officially need passports starting Jan. 23, according to the Homeland Security Secretary.

Michael Chertoff told the Associated Press that the department would officially announce plans on Wednesday.

The original date of implementation as part of the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative was Jan. 8, but officials missed a 60-day deadline.

Chertoff said that figures from September indicated that 90 per cent of passengers leaving from Canadian airports were already using passports.

The requirements will also apply to all Canadians and Americans entering the United States by land and sea by mid-2009, more than a year later than originally scheduled due to complaints from business groups and politicians on both sides of the border.

Last month, U.S. ambassador to Canada David Wilkins said a proposed high-tech identification card for Americans would speed up cross-border travel. It came just days after the U.S. State Department announced plans for a wallet-sized passport card, good for 10 years.

Rest assured this will fuck up cross-border trade, and affect both our economies. Oh you Americans are such winners.
 
The olny time I went to Canada was for a 2 week fishing trip. Getting a passport is not a big deal.

Leave it to a canuk like Luci who never goes anywhere to bitch about it.
