FUTURAMA MOVIE SET FOR HOLIDAYS
If the IMDB is to be believed, the first Futurama movie is entitled Bender’s Big Score.
The website says the main plotline is Planet Express endures a hostile takeover. At the same time everyone’s favorite alcohol-fueled robot Bender falls into the hands of organized crime. From the looks of things, the entire original voice cast is back including Katey Sagal (Leela), Lauren Tom (Amy), Phil LaMarr (Hermes), John DiMaggio (Bender) and, naturally, Billy West (as everyone else). Guest appearances include Frank Welker & Maurice LaMarche (both as Nibbler), Tress MacNeille (Leela’s Mom), David Herman (Leela’s Dad) and Al Gore. Yes, Al Gore.
As expected, David X. Cohen and Matt Groening are did the script.
According to inside sources at Fox, a formal announcement regarding this probably direct-to-DVD film is expected shortly. From the sounds of things, it should be out around this holiday season.
