Kinda continued from over at WF even though I haven't posted in my blog threads in about two months or so. :D

Don't know how much I'm willing to share but I'll at least use this for calorie counting - better to put it down somewhere else and have other people see it and "encourage" me. Or something. I may also post stuff about other things but I'm not sure yet.

Anyway, went back to calorie counting on Sunday (which now makes it two days ;) ). And it sucks. Makes you realise just how hard it is to eat right.
I'm aiming for 2500+ a day for now (having realised that summer'll be over by the time I'd actually have time to go outside I'm skipping that whole shit about losing weight or whatever and going straight back to building muscle) - I'd like to get 2900 or so though. I'm 185 cm (that's about 6 foot 1, IIRC) and roughly 78 kilos (I'll let you know next sunday - I'll hopefully be at about 80 by then ;) ) - which is probably about 175 pounds (?).

Here are the first two days:
Sunday:
2492 calories
234g protein
317g carbs
24.9g fat

Monday:
2645 calories
237.7g protein
311.2g carbs
48.8g fat

The excess fat comes from today's choice of meat (some kind of beef that came with a lot of fat :( ) - not terribly worried though. Also - I aim to go to the gym 6 times a week. Usually it either works out to be 7 or 5 but whatever. I hope to be up to 2900 by Thursday or so - still trying to figure out what it takes to get there. I may post more detailled stuff at some point, too.

And what is your objective here? Gaining weight? YOu do realize some of us would do evil deeds to have your metabolism? Counting calories is a pain and I never know if I should trust some of those frozen things.

Frozen things? :bergman:
The only things I occasionally buy in a frozen state are chicken and fish. Don't ask me what fish - I don't care, I don't know. It's all just "fish" for me. You eat it, doesn't taste all that awful, lots of protein, no carbs, little fat, few calories. :bergman:

Anyway, here goes today (even though I'm still debating with myself whether to eat some more fruits - but that won't add anymore than maybe 150 calories. So I still won't make 2700 :( ).
Tuesday:
2523 calories
223.3g protein
362.2g carbs
21.4g fat

That actually makes for the most carbs, so far. Lowest fat count, too. Ah, trade-offs. Not entirely happy with the protein today (even though realistically don't need any more than about 180 or so - IIRC until you reach 300g/day you have nothing to worry about, though  ).

And yes, missmanner - I guess I am trying to gain weight. :bergman:
I know I can lose it pretty quickly (3-4 pounds/week) so I'm gonna try and put it on in a healthy sense (i.e. mostly muscle) for a couple months now. Then start burning excess fat beginning in about, say, February or March 2008. At least that's the current plan. :D

Wednesday:
2744 calories
277g protein
328.9g carbs
33g fat

Yeeees, we're getting there (okay, realistically, we aren't - I can't exactly eat 440g of chicken every day  ). Still, loved it. :D
The protein thingie is very high today - but then again, that's due to the chicken as well. Also, I probably have an order of properly tasting protein shake ingredients coming at some point (not terribly hurried - as long as the protein bars I ordered on Sunday arrive by tomorrow  - I NEED them!).

MM is probably talking "Healthy Choice" "TV" Dinners and such.

Heh. Once upon a time I was in your place. As a teen and in my early twenties it was a struggle to get to 135# or so (on a 5'10" frame). Then at some point, around 30 I got all the way up to 165#. And the damned jeans companies were making a 30" waistline a lot smaller than they used to.

Eventually I realized that the waistline on a pair of Levi's 501s was the same as it had ever been (except for my well worn pair that I'd managed to relentlessly stretch out) and that I'd become a flabby bastard. :(

Now I watch what I eat and I'm almost where I want to be again. But I can't be bothered to actually count calories. I've just cut out soda, fast food, cookies, and anything fried. On rare occasions I'll treat myself to ice cream or KFC. And I eat a lot smaller portions a lot more often. A six inch Subway will fill me up now. But I'm hungry again in a couple hours (when I'll have a Power Bar or some yogurt or something before my next meal, three hours after that). And I try to get in a half-gallon or so of water every day.

That, combined with exercise 4-6 times a week has me in better shape than I was five years ago.

Thursday:
2313 calories
186.1g protein
287.9g carbs
45.8g fat

Yep, ran out of protein bars.
And - that thing above is what you get when you have dinner at McDonalds.

I refuse to accept that I'll ever get older. :bergman:
