If an Englishman were to ask for pie and chips, what is he asking for?

Why am I asking? It's a long story but it involves an insurance commercial and a gecko with an English accent talking about free chips and pie.
 
Chips = French Fries. I thought you'd know what.

Pie in this case would be meat pie. Not like an apple pie or PUMPKIN pie, but meat pie. Mmm, pie.
