Game Of Thrones 4.4 'Oathkeeper'

CaptainWacky

I want to smell dark matter
Dany balances justice and mercy. Jaime tasks Brienne with his honor. Jon secures volunteers while Bran, Jojen, Meera and Hodor stumble on shelter.

Hopefully only canon rapes this week.

I was late to the Game of Thrones party, but about three weeks ago I picked up the first 3 seasons in BluRay and watched the lot in the space of 10 days. I am now completely up to date - so yes, I am with you - I cannot wait for each upcoming episode now. I thought Breaking Bad was awesome until I started watching GoT and it beats it for absorbing storylines IMO.

Pretty good episode, but it wasn't my favorite. They are rushing so many things!

I like that Pod is going off with Brienne, changed from the book, but that means we'll get more Pod and Brienne I hope... even if it's stuff they're making up that never happened. WHATEVER

I knew that Crastor's daughter/wives were being raped, but I was a bit shocked they showed so much of it. Fuck... at least Jaime didn't rape anyone else this week.

Absolutely love Gwendoline Christie's portrayal of Brienne. What's not to like about a 6'3'' chick with a big sword?

How old is Tomon? Marghaery's lucky there's no opperation Yewtree in Westeros.

I know there was a massive restriction on how long they could spend in each location, but Dani taking over the city appeared to take a few seconds. One crowd shot of slaves turning on masters would've helped I think. We only saw one guy being attacked, AFAIR.

Littlefinger's accent became even more Oirish this week. Ah bejeezus!

Loved that final scene. So creepy. But they saved babies so that's nice. :)

Tommen is about eight at this point in the books. The new actor is sixteen but looks younger. I guess he's supposed to be about twelve. He certainly looked a lot younger when Cersei was reading to him in season two...

BUT AT LEAST SER POUNCE WAS IN IT. SER FUCKING POUNCE.

The way they took Meereen in the books was similar to the way they took Yunakai in the show, so I guess they wanted to avoid doing anyone similar battle?

I liked Burn Gorman saying "cuntface." How did those cunts manage to capture Ghost? He should have eaten them.

I really hope there isn't an invented scene of Meera being raped next week...

Why was Darth Maul in it at the end!?

I wish they'd kept Dany's vision of the king with the wolf head so when the Red Wedding happened people would think "ooooh, right."

When Dany's in the House of the Undying (season two finale) in the book she sees weird visions of things that have happened and will happen...

Farther on she came upon a feast of corpses. Savagely slaughtered, the feasters lay strewn across overturned chairs and hacked trestle tables, asprawl in pools of congealing blood. Some had lost limbs, even heads. Severed hands clutched bloody cups, wooden spoons, roast fowl, heels of bread. In a throne above them sat a dead man with the head of a wolf. He wore an iron crown and held a leg of lamb in one hand as a king might hold a scepter, and his eyes followed Dany with mute appeal.

Then once the Red Wedding happens in the next book you realise that's what she was seeing.

Ah. Maybe they were concerned it would be difficult to film without making it obvious who the figures were.
