THERE are two ways to slide easily through life: to believe everything or to doubt everything; both ways save us from thinking. To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.

Then, without realizing it, you try to improve yourself at the start of each new day; of course, you achieve quite a lot in the course of time. Anyone can do this, it costs nothing and is certainly very helpful. Whoever doesn't know it must learn and find by experience that a quiet conscience makes one strong. The colossal misunderstanding of our time is the assumption that insight will work with people who are unmotivated to change. Communication does not depend on syntax, or eloquence, or rhetoric, or articulation but on the emotional context in which the message is being heard. People can only hear you when they are moving toward you, and they are not likely to when your words are pursuing them. Even the choices words lose their power when they are used to overpower. Attitudes are the real figures of speech.

It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.

I never realized the Windows key could be use like the apple button on a mac keyboard. I always figured it was just a button to open the Start menu when you pressed it.

But there's a whole list of key combos you can use with the Windows key:

Windows + E: open an Explorer window

Windows + D: show the Desktop. Pressing this combo again will restore the windows to their original state.

Windows + F: displays Search window

Windows + L: locks Windows. Haven't tried this, or ever had a need to lock my computer.

Windows + M: minimizes all open windows.

Windows + Shift + M: restores all windows to the way they were before you minimized them

Windows + R: displays the Run window

Windows + Pause/Break: displays System Properties window
