I think this is really cool, but no one else seems too bothered. Okay, so you don't get to Mars, but your name does. And yes, it's in unimaginably small text on a microchip inside a rover on an uninhabited planet and might never be seen, much less read aloud by another living soul for all eternity, but it'll still be there. It might outlast all life on Earth.

No worries. I'm really surprised there's not much more interest for this. Although there's nearly 500,000 names from the US so far, hardly anyone I've told has been interested.

Yeah, there's got to be a lot of fake names on there. I hadn't heard of the rover myself until yesterday, but the general idea is pretty cool I think. It'll probably be in a Martian museum one day.
