Take the movie on it's own metits and it was good.

I didn't think much of it tbh...
Felt like a very clumsy, sub-orwellian mish-mash, unconvincing dialogue and incredibly unsubtle attempts at allegory - at least the ending was good.
no doubt the graphic novel is better but I haven't read it.

Yep -- as said elsewhere, the allegory was seriously hamfisted. I don't know, I thought the V character was fairly well-acted on Weaving's part. It's got to be damn hard to emote through a mask, and probably takes a very skilled and talented actor to do it as well as he did.
