Going vegetarian

Baker

New member
My girlfriend is going vegetarian for New Year. However, she says she is still going to eat fish and seafood. I pointed out that neither of those things are vegetables and something of a row ensued.

Apparently some say that fishing is cruel, and others say that fish don't count as proper animals.

All I know is that my girlfriend isn't speaking to me because I said she wasn't a "proper vegetarian".

Someone help me out.

Do YOU eat fish? :D

I can't believe you'd allow her to even offer an opinion. Tell her to make you a roast beef sandwich and shut the hell up.

I refuse to except that fishing is cruel. I used to be a semi-pro fisherman and it's just the usual crowd finding something else to complain about.

If she is going vegetarian its BETTER that she still eat fish. Having fish in your diet is one of the most important things. Fish is the only food that actively makes you brain grow and has been proven to off-set mental illness in later life. It's a GOOD thing that she still wants to eat fish, pure Veggies scare me and are unhealthy.

^I'm a pure veggie :(

although I do take suppliments with cod liver oil and other fish oils in them...

I believe that I disagree with everyone.

1. Fish are bloody idiots and probably don't feel pain, experience fear or get horny.
2. Fish have a sporting chance of not being caught, so it isn't the same thing as battery farming.
3. If eating fish really made your brain grow, eventually you would either have to develop a head like The Mekon or die an agonising death whilst clutching your head and going "gnnnnnnnnnnnn".
4. If you're a pure veggie and don't eat fish, taking the fish oil supplements doesn't make sense.
5. "I used to be a semi-pro fisherman" is the most brilliant argument for eating fish ever.

After reading the above I am inclined to pity you on many levels. Such a situation is disgusting. Please tell your girlfriend that i said that a true Vegitarian does not eat fish or any autonomous beings Hopefully this will straighten out your dillema. That is all.

Fish aren't clever enough to be considered autonomous. Most of them do whatever the rest of the shoal is doing.

I haven't got a dilemma, unless "dilemma" means a girlfriend who doesn't know what a fish is.

I told her what you said Scrotum, and she said to tell you that she has never fucking heard of you.

You can be a vegetarian and still eat the fish, that's what I've found it the vegetarian circles up here.

However, you can't be a vegan and still eat the fish, that's a no-no. Vegans are much more uptight about that shit.

So your GF is a vegitarian who eats fish. I think there's an actual term for that *google* a pescetarian, in fact. Like Menty said, it's actually quite healthy.

First of all, my name is Scrotus. Not Scrotum. There is a thread covering THAT SUBJECT I WOULD SUGGEST THAT YOU READ IT!!!!

Secondly, EVERYONE here has heard of me.
