GTA IV -- SUCKIEST PORT EVER.

Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with Rockstar? After their ABYSMAL port of Bully they have done the same again with GTA IV.


Clearly they haven't done much to optimize the game for PC. It runs like shit and has a whole cavalcade of problems. Even the most top range PC's are having trouble running this thing. Seriously, when I can run Crysis at 1650*1080 with most settings on high I expect better or at THE VERY LEAST similar performance from GTA IV.


No chance.


What a bunch of melts R* are. Fuckers.
 
San Andreas was a very good port. Worked flawlessly on modest systems when it came out.

There is never an excuse for a bad port since games are made on PC's. All of them. A bad port is the result of code not being optimized properly when being carried over from a console version. It's laziness.

Even monster PC's with SLI'd 9800GTX's are getting random missing textures and bad framerates.

What's more this shoddy port eats CPU's for breakfast. They actually recommend a Quad Core! Fuck off!


The fact of the matter is this: Rockstar cannot say shit when games like Crysis and Far Cry work flawlessly well on mid-range systems.

GTA IV doesn't even have controller support unless you have a 360 gamepad!

It's a shame because the game is genius. Really great on every level. But technically, on the PC, it's a pile of unoptimized shit.
 
A lot of games nowadays for the PC have been biased against modest PC's.

Shit, if you don't have some custom, badass, alienware, those games won't work.

I'm still pissed that Left 4 Dead doesn't work on my PC.

Looks great on 360 tho.
 
In a way I am glad to hear this, as before when they announced it was coming out on PC I felt like a twat for buying a PS3 just so I could play this game, but by the sound of it, it wouldnt have played well on my pc anyway, and at least I get to watch bluerays.
 
It's turning in to a PR nightmare for R* right now. It seems like the entire internet is up in arms about this.
 
They've obviously rushed the fucking thing out to cover the Christmas period. It'll cost them in terms of return, support & lost faith, so good. They'll have to do better next time.


I still haven't played the game on any system. Still haven't finished San Andreas!
 
I hear you on the San Andreas. Once you get done with the turf war and the game goes into the country, I just lose interest.
 
They could have made the gang colours easier to make out on the map too, sometimes it hard to tell whether a turf is yours or not.
