Happy Encounter At Farpoint Anniversary

September 28, 2022 marks the 35th anniversary of the first syndicated broadcast of "Encounter at Farpoint," the feature-length first episode of the all-new Star Trek: The Next Generation, starring Patrick Stewart as Captain Jean-Luc Picard. Star Trek fans were understandably skeptical of this new take on Gene Roddenberry's creation, but fortunately, many stuck around long enough to become fans of the new captain and crew, and their new adventures on the final frontier. "Encounter at Farpoint" was written by Gene Roddenberry and Dorothy Fontana, and directed by Corey Allen.

Star Trek is the reason many of us ever met in the first place, so yeah, it's kind of a big deal.
