Has wiki pedia ruined message boards FOREVER?

For example, in the past if I was wondering why Count Duckula was originally a villain on Danger Mouse and how he became a good guy in his own cartoon, I would have to start a thread in the Mine Field asking. Now, however, I can just look up wiki pedia. Though I haven't, in this case. WORRYING!?

Wiki is user driven and editable. therefor the content is always suspect.

If i was a teacher, I would not count any Wiki entries as proof of anything.
Nor acceptable as use for reference.

Mmm, we're not allowed to use wikipedia as a reference at uni, while the Mine Field is on the reading list.

common sense

and other sources

could weed out most

of the disinformation
