@whisky , I'm pretty sure National Cinema Day 2023 which is this coming Sunday during which movie tickets at participating movie theaters will be $4.00 is a United States ONLY "holiday" so to speak.

I could be wrong. Perhaps this same "holiday" is being celebrated up in Canada too as obviously their own separate National Cinema Day.
