Heath Ledger Found Dead in NYC Apartment

I was just saying in the thread in TP. It's going to be a big problem for the release of the movie despite his filming being done. Kinda takes the 'fun summer blockbuster romp' out of the flick if one of your young stars is found dead from suicide/overdose.

Anyway... it's a shame for sure. R.I.P

YEAH. WHY SO SERIOUS?!

dammit.

I loved so much of his work. And at 28 he still had so much potential yet to fulfill.

not to mention a three-year-old daughter.

just.....damn.

I have a sneaking suspicion that his performance as the Joker will be revolutionary as well. And I hate that what I expect will be a groundbreaking performance has to be seen posthumously.

I am always so disturbed by a young person's death and then add his daughter into the mix and it just breaks my heart.

R.I.P. Heath

I didn't like all of his work but he was outstanding in Broke Back Mountain and yes I imagine he will do the Joker like nobody's business, what a bummer.

still can't believe it. so much to live for.

there's no way to tell if it was an accident?
- people are always screwing around with over the counter doses. (I guess I want it to be accidental for the sake of his sisters, mom, and little girl).

The comparisons with Brandon Lee were the first thing I thought about. Although the circumstances were different.

They are now saying it was prescription medication BUT he had made a comment before that he was having trouble sleeping after playing the Joker and he'd take two Ambien and it'd only help him sleep for an hour. I believe it was an accident, when you're dead tired and out of it sometimes you don't realize how close together you're taking medication. I've done that so it really does happen. Also, there were still pills left in the bottles, if he was going to kill himself he would have taken them all don't you think?

If it really was an accident and he just got a little liberal with strong sleeping medication then this is even MORE of a tragedy.

I'm pretty bummed, too. I had enjoyed him in A Knight's Tale and The Patriot, then lost track of him until Brokeback Mountain.

The fact that he was going to play the Joker, and all the stills and trailers that I'd seen of his performance just ramped up my desire to see TDK even more. I agree with what you said, Menty, about how groundbreaking it will be, but it definitely won't be the same now.

I did get a little sick of all the news channels jumping to so many conclusions. I think it was a CNN channel that I was watching yesterday, and they were practically orgasmic over the fact that they were hearing that it was Mary Kate Olsen's apartment he had been found in. Of course, that turned out to be false.

Many reports said that he had pneumonia at the time he died, so he could have just been taking too many contraindicated drugs at once.

Yeah, they must be really bored these days. And desperate for publicity.

I guess the hate-mongering business is slow after the holidays.
