WHY did no one tell me I could watch ALL the episodes for FREE on the webSITE!

Excellent premise, but the 1 1/2 episodes I've seen have a few amateurish mistakes which give the impression that very talented but inexperienced people created this show.

These are all very minor, but it's a quirk of mine.
 
One of my friends at this very moment is 50% finished downloading all the Heroes episodes for me.. he's gonna burn them and send them to me in the mail. I can hardly wait.. then I can start watching them on TV like I should've done from the beginning.

The show is terribly unrealistic at times. No, not the idea of humans developing powers, but the reactions of the characters to the stressful situations. The scenes are riddled with ridiculous dialogue so cliched it makes one wonder whether or not it was written by film students.

I personally found the psuedo-science annoying (Like the myth of Humans using 10% of their brains), but you can't exactly hold it against the show. It is, after all, a product meant to appeal to as wide a demographic as possible.

Some might recognize Adrian Pasdar, who played Jim Profit in a short-lived TV series. He, and other, more experienced actors, easily steals the show.

Maybe I shouldn't call all these 'flaws' but 'necessary evils' instead. If the show wasn't dumbed down at least slightly it would never have made it to a second episode.

So why do I like the show? Because it's fun.

I think you might be getting over-saturated, Mess. There's a reason serials are spread out over a series of weeks...

I was wondering where that came from because I never got that from the series, and I've seen every episode. I must've blinked.

Or got up to take a leak. Or something.
 
In an interview with Heroes writer Bryan Fuller, Fuller says that "He(Sylar) kills people and he eats their brains and he, like, digests their power." This remained unsaid in the series until "Parasite" because some of the writers worried about "the potential sillyness".[3] Bennet confirms that Sylar has gained multiple powers by mixing other people's DNA with his own.

Really? I thought, if anything, Parasite confirmed that Sylar wasn't eating brains, but that the more realistic(well, the more acceptable) theory was correct. That he was looking at the differences in the brains and figuring out how they worked. Most people choose to take the line "let's see how that works" literally, mainly because the idea of him chowing down on brains is lame.

Btw, I agree with your criticisms about the show. I love it. I really, really love it, but watching the first episode again I couldn't believe how stupid Mohinder's speech to his students was. It was a cute little coda when he squished the cockroach(arguably the image of God!) later on, though.

I think a lot of the actors do well, particularly the younger, less experienced ones. Hayden Penettiere as Claire is great, as well Masi Oka as Hiro. I find the older actors less convincing. Granny Petrelli in particular really isn't played that well. Like you say, the show's laid back charm is what saves it from its minor faults.
 
Also, waitress babe's head wasn't removed or eaten in any way from what I could gather. Her scalp was removed like all the rest but her brain didn't seem to be tampered with in any great way.

Any niggles I might have with the show are beyond trivial. And the start of any show will never be the mark at which it should be criticized against as a whole. Heroes really picks up steam quickly and escalates all the way to the point we are at now.

Best show in television. Hands down.
 
Oh, actually, that reminds me of the other annoying thing. Those voiceovers by the patronising deep voiced bloke are the most cringeworthy thing ever. The one at the beginning of episode 11 or 12(whichever came after the christmas break) that recaps everything.. ugh.
