I remember one year it was the season opener, and there had been lots of rumours about cast changes.

So it started as it usually did, in the station, only you couldn't recognise anyone, all the speaking parts where by people you didn't know, and for a minute you thought "fuck, have they replaced everyone?" then Belker's mum rang as usual, and a guy answered and said "Sorry Mrs Belker, your son isnt here, this is the night shift"

Then the opening credits rolled, and after that, everyone we all recognised was back again.

You just cant imagine a show doing something like that today, they would be worried about people turning over before the first commercial.

Nothing pisses me off more than the fact that the company that released the first two seasons on DVD decided not to release the rest of the seasons because sales weren't healthy enough.

You don't start something like that and then not finish it. At least put out a series box set and be done with it, but don't tease fans and then leave them hanging, BITCHES.

I actually enjoy the later seasons just as much as the early ones. But then, I say the same thing about Buffy and people think I have a disorder.

I haven't named a computer after a HSB character in a while. But my Mac G4, Belker, is still up and running.

This show it all the time on one of the sky channels, there might be torrents of the entire series, not the same as DVDs I know.

Makes you wonder how they justify releasing the entire original charlies angels and dukes of hazzard, but not Hill Street Blues.

It only airs once a week in America, and that's on an obscure digital cable channel run by the Moonies (laughingly called American Life TV). LA Law, St. Elsewhere, WKRP, The Mary Tyler Moore Show and several Newhart series are also held hostage there in order to draw people in.

There are only torrents of the seasons already released on DVD. Nobody seems to have recorded the show's other seasons when it aired more often.
