So I'm back, getting into the flow of the job hunt. And I zapped off a fresh batch of business cards for networking. In the process I had a couple realizations:

1) I should stop being a cheap bastard and pay a printer to make some for me. The ones you make on your inkjet with perforated paper from Staples are fine for college students and people with hobby organizations, but they just aren't up to par for the image I want to project.

2) I probably should drop my "address" off of them and just go with the phone and e-mail. Because if I have the physical address on it and someone who has offices downtown decides to stop by on their lunch hour they will realize pretty quickly that my "office" is a box at the UPS Store. :oops:
 
I did the free Vistaprint thing the first time, and paid the second. It takes a while to get rid of 500 of them

Eh. In the Information Age, you could just leave the physical address off; write it on the back for anyone who needs it.

The last time I did this, I mulled getting a fax machine--or more accurately, getting a service with a fax number so fax machines could send me documents electronically on my computer. Ultimately, the conclusion I came to is, unless you're doing business with the government--or are a huge business, you really don't need a fax anymore.
 
Ah, that's cool. I got the impression that you were putting "job applicant" or somesuch on it. :D
 
Well if it doesn't get any traction in its current format I may change the services to: Neurosurgeon, Astronaut, Porn star. :ramen:
 
So I did a networking event last night. None of the business cards I got from self-employed people listed a physical address. Just phone and e-mail. (And absolutely NO fax number. Faxes are SO 20th century.)
