Hottest Place on Earth?

Then it wouldn't be on Earth, but a different place now wouldn't it?

BTW, bushfires were burning within a few kilometres of my house and now it's covered in ash. The sun was blotted out for a few hours by the smoke and the air was orange.

And the hottest day in Melbourne's history to boot. I hope SuN and her ferret/weasel are ok and not crispy.

Oh Yub!! That would have been so scary! Hope you guys remain safe.
The conditions have been just horrendous, 90kmh hot, wild winds + 45-48degree'z.

Yas me & the weazel are ok, thnx ;) Tho last week he was suffering; but he came good quickly. No trees near us (cbd'z) but I got caught on the hwy 2day, twas scary.
Saw a massive male Roo, never seen a gray that size; he was bouncing out of the bush trying to get away from the fire, he was sniffing the air, checking for the best direction.
Nice animal, sad day.

Sad, scary day, and the moon looked epic rising over the giant pyro-cumulus.

Hope tomorrow is better.
774am have been really good too

Looks like mah family home is gunna burn :( Place has been evacuated- so noone to fight-no services b/c they are all tied up; roof sprinklers out coz no power; a 120yr old miners cottage. Its at complete mercy of the fire.
1am the fire-wall started ripping along the road, approx 6km long in a V shape, the road winds thru thick, dry crown forest-tis going to be an absolute miracle if the house is still standing in the morning. zomg.zomg.zomg. At least all humans and animals are not trapped.

Hope your still safe Yub.
Going to be a few weeks to count all the bodies, nearly 108 dead already :(
Some victims have understandably been calling for the arsonists to be put under the terrorism laws, lol that would be fun.
The fire is still a threat to teh village, 25k hectare fire; it may encircle depending on the winds. Its keeps approaching then falling back, spreading, then approaching again.
Scores of horses and stock being put out of their misery; vets have been in tears at the the work they have had to do.
Now a 15k hectare size fire is now considered a small one.

Thnx curious; my family evacuated early and are at the other house in the village- it hasn't come through, and looks like its going to climb the mountains now.
Firey's still working to protect the township; but looks like its moved on. :(

Dammit, I thought I posted in here already.

Good to see fires around your way are racking off. See K-Rudd all broken up about it? These fires are massive. Gippsland fires are under control so I'm fine.

Yas Ruddkipz was shattered, nice to see his humanity.
Good to hear your safe, Beechworth is clear, just burning through the smaller valley's.

This fire was like nothing ever seen before, it was so ferocious.
They were saying they wont send fire fighters out if the heat energy is 4000kw and over as it becomes a suicide mission; this one was above 40,000kw.
126 Dead now. Its just fucking unbelievable. I suppose the bonus is that now we all know what is a defendedable fire, and what is simply impossible to fight.

There was an amazing story in Gippsland of a guy and his horse, the horse threw him down an embankment coz he was on fire, he rolled into a creek..and followed it home, when he got there, his horse was waiting for him. Burnt but alive. :(

The army is out digging pits for all the cattle, over 10,000 head of sheep already lost.

Apparently they can see red haze smoke in new zealand!
