How to exit Iraq:

Very simple. In fact we should have done it years ago.

You hold an ELECTION. There's nothing more "American".

You put it to a vote of the Iraqi people: Should the American's stay, or leave.

If they say "stay, because if you go the (name your other ethnicity/religious sect) will come over and slaughter us", then we have a MANDATE to stay, and we have leverage to get the locals to HELP us even more in getting the (name your other ethnicity/religious sect with GUNS). We aren't an occupying force, we really are there as peace-keepers then. Plus, we start CHARGING them, more than we already do, for our services.

If they say "no", then hey, we fixed all of the stuff we blew up (multiple times in most cases), so we say Bye with clean hands.

Note what happened in South Korea when we offered to leave there about 5 years ago...(do the research).

Why is this so difficult?

OMG you in the hot desert sun, all of that sweat and sex and everything else.
LOL I forgot this was iN Armchair Philosophers.

There was something about Iraq and voting or something like that. Oh yes, well I am sure the US would have to vote first. And then man, if they do say stay then we are stuck over there for how long then?

The new cold war isn't with Communism. We've already won that battle. Now, we're fighting a lukewarm war with terrorists and their Muslim extremist friends. We're gonna set up a base of operations in Iraq and use that as a platform to keep the peace in the Middle East. That was Bush's plan, at least.

I'm sure Obama's not gonna see the long term returns on such an investment. However, we can thank his predecessor Mr. Clinton for the terrorists running wild during his term. [sarcasm]I'm sure Obama's not really gonna be that way, too.[/sarcasm]

I'm not much for the world police idea, but if a country can build arms and plan attacks on our country from afar, doesn't that kinda count as a defense threat to the US?

Korea is worth watching because the batshit insane leader they've got and his nuclear arms are a definite threat, not just to the US, but the entire free world. Iran and some of the -stans are worth watching. Mainly because, just look what they did with about a dozen guys, some box cutters, and some plane tickets.

Now, imagine if Korea and the Muslim terrorists were to join forces. Or at least revenue. Bush was smart in pushing the big US dick up the middle eastern ass. It may not have made us very popular in Europe, but it will most likely keep us just a bit safer here at home.
