However, usually they dig a trench above the high-tide line, drag the carcas into it and burry it. Hauling a dead whale out to sea usually only makes it another beach's problem in a few weeks (they float).
But C-4 is always a fun way to not solve a problem!
We could always let the guys on "Mythbusters" try to solve the problem. It'll involve dynamite, an old 18 wheeler, lots of helium, a mirror, and vodka.
