Humour is so subjective

curiousa2z

Be patient till the last.
such that even the dearest friends may not find the same things funny all the time.

who is your favourite comedian?

I don't KNOW! I do love Jon Stewart and Steven Colbert, but I watch their shows 4 nights a week. I also love Kathy Griffin.

hmmmmm....Colin Mochrie, Ryan Reynolds (he's not just a pretty face and masses of muscles...uh..what was I talking about..anyway, he's really funny.) Stephen Fry, Tina Fey, Amy P (dunno how to spell her name) the cast of This Hour Has 22 Minutes, and yes I'm going there: very ften Ricky Gervais. To name a few.

TOLD YOU HUMOUR WAS SUBJECTIVE! :rwmad:

Hmm. I'm not sure. Stephen Fry's one of my favourites too.

Oh, there's a guy over here called Milton Jones. He mostly does one-liners, and lots of puns and wordplay. I'll have to find a video of his best material tomorrow.

I really know. I don't watch stand-up because I get bored of just one person standing there for hours talking and I don't watch the televised "comedy roadshow" shit because it's shit!

Stewart Lee is amusing.

Do Jeff Dunham and Damn You Autocorrect count? I'd love to hear about Walter and Achmed's texting blunders.

I am also a fan of Steward Lee and really wanted to go and see him in BrATford (as the locals pronounce the place) but the wife looked at me like I was made of cheese.

Russel Brand is such a very funny man. I particularly like his hollywood movies. They are a real hoot.

Gilda Radner was my favorite comedienne

I loved Gilda. Read her autobiography, "It's Always Something" all the way through on an international flight years ago. I like Gene Wilder too.

Other comedians that crack me up:
Chris Rock
Larry David
Wanda Sykes
Dennis Miller
Robin Williams
Tracey Ullman

For dead comedians:
George Carlin
Richard Pryor

I find it hard to give stand-up comedians a chance anymore -- the format is so played out.

I'd have to say currently, Jon Stewart (and his writing staff).

And we miss you Gilda:

stand up doesn't interest me, but improv and interviews can really bring out how clever and quick a comedian really is. love that.

We should put a gun up against comics head to see how funny they can really get. We could call it Russian Improv.

Michael McCintyre first!

You live long enough and the comedians who had you rolling on the floor as a teenager just have you rolling your eyes as a middle aged man.

Robin Williams and Billy Connelly where on the top of their game 30 years ago, their early stuff still holds up, but when they try now, its just not the same.

Peter Kay has grown lazy too, too many references to his earlier routines, or jokes stolen from other people.

I guess that's my roundabout way of saying I dont have one now.
