Hypnotism: Real or no deal?

Anyone here ever been hypnotised?
 
Once, but it was the first time I got high on weed.

So that may not count.
 
I actually know a lot about hypnotism and its effects. Hypnotism is very real though it's not quite what people think. It relies on suggestion and a sense of authority over the subject. If someone doesn't want to be hypnotized you won't be able to hypnotize them. Final.

You cannot take total control over someone through hypnosis either.

There are techniques more in line with brain washing that can forcibly screw peoples heads up but its not got much in common with hypnosis.

If you're really interested in it then there is plenty to read on the subject and you could try some hypnosis tapes which will put you in a trance state so you can experience it yourself.
 
My brain would never let me be hyponitised, for the same reason it won't let me feel pleasure: CONTROL FREAK.
 
I haven't had it done, but I've seen it done in person and believe it's possible for some purposes. I doubt I could loosen up my mind enough to be put under.
 
I'm going to ask what NLP stands for now.

I watched that Darren Brown show I downloaded about six months ago about three months ago, by the way. The part with the broken glass was insane.
