One bleak winter a man was distraught and decided to kill himself.

He went out on the edge of a cliff, hammered a stake into the ground and tied one end of a rope to the stake. He tied the other end of the rope around his neck. Then he swallowed poison, doused himself with gasoline, lit a match and set himself on fire. Then he jumped over the edge of the cliff.

While he was flailing about, gagging, hanging and burning up, he tried to shoot himself in the head with a handgun.

He missed and the bullet struck the rope already weakened by fire. The rope broke and the man fell into the sea below.

The sea water put out the fire and made him throw up the poison.

A boat was nearby and came and pulled him out of the water before he drowned.

Still he died.
