I didn't know us Yanks were getting a "Sherlock"

Yeah, that's one of the threads that takes too long to load for me, so I stopped trying to read it.

Hey, wasn't there already an American, male/female adaptation of Sherlock back in the 90's? I think it was called The Y-Files or The Z-Folders. Something like that.

Also, why is it that when the BBC makes a good series, the Americans have to Americanize & plagiarize them? We totally fucked Doctor Who in the ass back in the 90's with that awful made-for-tv movie. Lately, we've ripped off Being Human and Top Gear. This also doesn't include big brother, america's got talent, American idol, and a litany of other trash/reality tv shows.

In the case of Sherlock, this is a copy of an adaptation of another adaptation. AKA: crap.

Well it doesn't really seem to be taking much from the BBC's Sherlock (other than the "set in the present day" thing.) It's more like any formula detective show but with characters named "Holmes" and "Joan Watson".

We lucked out with The Office though. The American version so much better.

^ I dunno. Six in one, half dozen in the other. They're both good. Gervais and Carell are neck-and-neck to me. Yet, I think the Brit version wins for me, because Gervais came here to make the US version.

I like the American version of "Being Human". But that might be because of Sam "Always Needs to Have His Shirt Off" Witwer.

Carell is quite a bit ahead for me, though I begrudgingly admit I liked Gervais on The Ricky Gervais Show and Extras.
