U C, I LIVED IN A BRITISH COLONY FOR MANY A LNG YERA (FOUR, IN FACT) AND I PICKET UP A LOT OF BRITISH MANNERISMS THAT I DON'T USE ANY MORE AND I ALSO WATCHED A LOT OF BRITISH TELLY (DANGER MOUSE AND PYTHON MOSTLY) AND A LITTLE BANANAMAN THE LIKE.

I lived in Malaysia and Singapore from '87 to '92, or thereabouts. We had three stations on the telly, and they all cycled through about four different languages so it was a crapshoot as to what show in what language you're going to catch at any given time of day.

I did memorize that 5:00PM on weekdays was Dangermouse followed by Bananaman. 'Cor, chief!

I can fully believe that. What were you doing far east if you don't mind my asking?

And Danger Mouse rocked too. Bananaman and Danger Mouse were two of my personal favs.

My father worked for AT&T Int. and we went all over the Orient from '80 to '92. Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, all over. You name a country on the Pacific Rim, I've been to the airport AT LEAST.

Malaysia was my favorite, tho. We camped in the million year old rainforest, golfed on the royal golf course, scuba dived the rock quarry lakes, and mingled with the culture we found there.

But yeah, all of the English speaking people in that stretch of Southeast Asia were speaking English that the Brits taught them. That's why I often say "telly". I refuse to spell color as colour, tho, don't know why.

LOL!! SARS IS THE LEAST OF YOUR WORRIES, WACKY.

When we finally moved back to the states, we were in line at customs and we realized that we were in the line for non-US citizens... looking at our US passports, we found that we were pre-paid immigrants.

So after all that time in the orient, we landed in Atlanta, GA. Culture shock a-plenty. So now I live in the mid-west with a slight Georgia accent but I still use words like, "telly".
