I have an unnatural hate for Meryl Streep

I don't know why it is, but I can't stand her. She's not the best fucking thing in every movie she does, and I know I'm in the minority, but grrrr al;alsdkjf;lasjasjdfjasfljwoerj asjfasdhuaeyt iwuajasdfj ;safoasjd;fkklcxv mlknsdfj sdj fxcv,n skd fosjdflkj as;dofh owiejflksdlld fj lsdjflasjdfl;js e;fjlskdjf sdjf kasd

I can't remember if I've ever seen in a movie with her in it.

She's not the on the Wacky Hot One Hundred, that's for sure!

I'm not sure it's unnatural. While I think she has talent, I never really got why she is such a big thing.

She played a kickass Julia Child... but most of her super stardom comes from her movies of the 70's and 80's.

I think I've said this before, but the woman takes a good shit in a movie and she gets nominated.

I have a love/hate thing with her. In half her movies I ADORE her, in the other half I think she's an over-affected, presentational ham.

But she does know how to inspire a good tribute.

I know I've watched that clip a hundred times and posted it here before, but I'll watch it a hundred times more.

BTW, conventional wisdom dictates that the hated actor was Charles Dance.

The only movie I can remember seeing her in was The Hours, which was depressing as hell, but I don't suppose that was her fault. What are her great movies anyway?

I'm not a movie watching person, really, I mena I watch them sometimes but YOU KNOW anyway these are considered some of her best ones: Silkwood, The Deer Hunter, Kramer vs Kramer, and... I can't remember anymore.

Although it's got some hot babes in it, the general concept of the movie just never appealed to me. I mean, I barely know what Prada is, other than an expensive clothing something (which can be inferred from the title of the movie).

I only watched that movie because it has Anne Hathaway in it.

Oh, I watched part of The Devil Wears Prada on tv. It didn't seem that great?

It's fantastic! You have ladies bitching at each other in elaborate ways, Anne Hathaway as the frumpy girl who (SPOILERS) becomes beautiful, and Meryl Streep just owning the fuck out of all her scenes.

The Hours IS one of her great movies, but it's more of an ensemble piece. I've watched that one again and again.

Great-to-good Streep peeps:
Doubt
Angels in America (on HBO)
Julie & Julia
Devil Wears Prada
A Prairie Home Companion
The Hours
Postcards from the Edge
Death Becomes Her
Silkwood
Kramer vs. Kramer
Manhattan

Ones I haven't seen enough to comment but others say they're good:
Adaptation
Sophie's Choice (I did see it and she's really good but it's soooo long and drawn out)
The Manchurian Candidate
The Deer Hunter (haven't seen it in 20 years)

Suck-ass or boring/epic Meryl:
Out of Africa
The Bridges of Madison County
Music of the Heart
Dancing at Lughnasa
The House of the Spirits
She-Devil
A Cry in the Dark (DINGO ATE MAH BABY!)
Plenty
Falling in Love

And you know what? I wanted to hate her and everything else about Mamma Mia, but the whole thing ended up being...not vomitous! Pierce Brosnan made me gag a couple of times, though.
