Its been long enough and its to the point now where I no longer care anymore to hide it. My memory from this time period is very hazy due to some medical issues, but to my to the best of my memory, during the second to last major Admin election at EFCL, I helped cover-up the fact that the election was rigged. The votes were tallied up in the end, and I think the winner was a three way tie between Missmanners, I think PopeDan and Joel. Neither Michael or I had voted at all by the time the election ended, so he went back and edited one of my posts with hidden text to place one vote for Joel, giving him a decisive lead and constitutionally preventing a runoff vote from having to go forth. One Admin editting another Admin's post would prevent the "Post editted by" line from being added automatically. Mike's rationale was that Joel would be a perfect Admin because he wouldn't make any large decisions and would leave the day to day runnings of the board to someone else. I was aware of all of this, but said nothing. I'm not proud of it, but thats how it really happened. Its unfortunate that it happened that way, because Joel was a very good Admin, and after some internal issues in the CR, even offered to give his resignation rather than a full blown scandal erupting. He was a good poster and a friend.
On another occassion, While in the chatroom late one night during the stalled C4 talks, Michael and I jokingly conspired a scenario where we would suspend the Constitution, lock the Senate forum and remove every mod, then assume direct control of the board with 3 or 4 simple rules in place, then name a few trusted moderators and one Super Admin to rule while a new Constitution was drafted. Kate and I think tmm3k were present and though I don't think any of us thought it was serious, we ended the conversation by saying we would implement this by the next week, but afterwards it was never spoken of again, and later Michael came to the brilliant conclusion that it was a very melodramatic and poorly thought out idea.
Right before the eventual downfall of the entire board, these mistakes and a few other frustrations of mine led to me removing myself as Admin, and deleting my account without even telling Michael beforehand, simply because I was done with the situation and the fact that EFCL was quicly sinking into flames. At this point we were down to very few overal posts per day, and no new members had joined the board in ages. So, thats the part I played in the destruction of EFCL 3.0 and why I've been so back-seat in my participation in the next two incarnations of EFCL that would follow. The only other person I shared this with is Loki, who while understandably dissapointed, understood that I was among other things at that time a bad drug addict, an alcoholic, and suffering from other non-related health issues.
Thats the truth, the whole truth, and I'll not be speaking much about any of it anymore, but now its off my chest.
