Do you think they just put the spaceship exploding bit at the start and Billy Bailey in so they'd have something to show in the trailers.

It was nice for a change to see someone get possessed(by a world of tree spirits) and not go insane.

It was mixed, but overall I liked it.

I thought the intro was quite clever. An alien spaceship coming to attack Earth "ah, so this is the big bad!" and then it turns out we've turned up just in time to witness the end of that little adventure of the Doctor's, er, but then they spoilt it a bit with the bad greenscreen shots of him falling toward Earth (and sound in space, but I can get over that), but THEN they had the amusing backward spacesuit thing.

And that's how I felt pretty much all the way through. There was something great, and then something that seemed a bit shark jumpy or needlessly elaborate, but then something great happened again.

At least it wasn't a rip off of Narnia like it had seemed from the title and the trailers.

The tree aliens looked really, really good. A bit like if Dr Who was directed by Guillermo del Toro. The suits that the acid rain workers wore looked pretty cool too (in what I think was intentionally a kind of cliché 'Earth industry in space' kind of way).

Well acted all round, as well. I reckon kids would've really enjoyed it.
