I know this will bore you but...

Mrs. Big Dick McGee
I just have to say it...My nephew got braces today and I cried like a weirdo.

I remember so clearly freaking out watching the nurses manhandle him the day he was born and there he was, 9 years old with a mouth full of metal...My baby.

I have decided that there's no way around it, I'm going to be one of those weepy, goofy mothers that turns on cartoons, cries, and sips General Foods International Coffees when the kids start school 'cause I won't know what to do with myself.

9 seems quite young to have braces. Are his teeth particularly bad? Either way, though, nobody wears them for too long and they'll be gone by the time he gets to high school.

Good old Lenny.

First thing tomorrow morning I'm going to punch Lenny in the back of the head!

Oh yes, the boys has all kinds of problems. A cross bite, a particularly high palette, crooked teeth but he'll be good as new in 2 years so that's something to look forward to.

Nine is not unusually young, it is for my generation, no one had braces that young when I was a kid. However, the orthodontist said that they like to start at age 7 now so really my nephew is behind.
