I Learned a Very Important Lesson Today...

I got the chance to go on a last minute mini-vacation to Schlitterbahn this weekend, and I totally had a good time. I put sunscreen on when I got there (and during the day), but it seems I didn't cover enough ground near my boobs. (D'oh!) So now I have a sunburn...but ONLY there!

Lesson learned. Swimsuits move around...apply sunblock accordingly.
 
I went snorkeling a couple of years ago in the Dry Tortugas, off the coast of Key West. Applied tons of sunscreen, but I was floating in the water the entire 4 hours we were there.

Got back to the hotel and, you guessed it, the parts of my body that were floating above water-upper back, calves, and neck, were crispy-fried. They were so burnt they were giving off heat. OUCH.

That's also the trip where I found out my hair was getting a little thin at the back of my head. When the shower hit that part-YOW! Never burn your scalp, it hurts worse than just about anything.
 
It's true. If you've ever taken a shower with a man, you'll find that your breasts will be sparkling clean when your done. Sparkling.
 
I go sailing , you get way out and the wind dies then you sit there and burn to hell. I hide in the shade of the sails and drink like a fish. :)
 
I'm sure it had a lot to do with the fact that we were on the tube chutes most of the time. I also always burn really easy...and the heat/sun sucked today (but was perfect for a water park).

I just noticed my calves and feet are a bit red, too. D'oh!

Trust me, I know that all too well! That's what happens when you're naturally fair skinned and live in Texas. Doesn't really make for a good combination.

I have an aloe plant outside, actually. I think I might just use the "fake" stuff, though. (I don't have to go outside and dig in a plant to get it.)

Is schlitterban cool Deni? I\'ve heard some rad things about it, but never talked to anyone about it. We got Six Flags Whitewater here.

Yup, and it's been voted best waterpark over and over again by the Travel Channel (and I think others, too).

Yes. You learned you do not have much of a chance with one such as great as myself.
