Let's fuck some shit up
So, in a little memorial thread here's some videos of how really badass Josh really is. I'm hoping that by the end of this thread you've done one of the following three things.
1) Listened to all of the music I posted and now have to clean the shit from your pants.
2) You did 1 and it caused #2 and therefore you'll go out and find more stuff this guy's been involved in
3) You absolutely hate this stuff because you're a wanker who listens to bands like HIM and My Chemical Romance. Please go slit your wrists and stop funding shitty bands. P.S. Go sit on a fat cock you emo asshat.
Now that were done with intros, who wants to have their ears and mind fucked by some of the greatest tunes on earth?
Let's start with Josh's most well-known involvement in Queens of the Stone Age.
"Avon" - Queens of the Stone Age

"Feel Good Hit of the Summer" - R

"Go With The Flow" - Songs for the Deaf
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=<obj...e" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
"Burn the Witch" - Lullabies to Paralyze (featuring Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top fame)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=<obj...e" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
A small trivia factoid about this song is that on this video @ 2:26 Billy made that little "twang" by getting his beard caught in the guitar. It makes the song, IMO.
"3's & 7's" - Era Vulgaris

Josh Homme is notorious for heckling the crowd. However, if you've ever seen him in concert, he makes love to the crowd and they'll run like lemmings to a cliff for him.

Josh is responsible for some of the most badass musical projects of our time.
His most recent project is playing drums for the band Eagles of Death Metal. Check his work on this song which makes me squirt in my shorts every time I hear it.
"I Want You So Hard (Boy's Bad News)" - Death By Sexy...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=<obj...e" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
And I only posted that song because the embedding on the song "I Gotta Feeling (Just 19)" was disabled. Same album as above.
He helped produce Melissa Auf Der Maur's self titled album; and even performed guitar in one track.
"Skin Reciever" - Melissa Auf der Maur

DJ Shadow's side project U.N.K.L.E. has done some amazing work with many artists through the years. One of which was Josh.
"Safe in Mind" - Never Never Land

Desert Sessions: A project organized by Josh Homme which had some of the most of the progressive rock artists of the early-to-mid 90's. Together they released some of the most awesome and sexy tracks this planet has ever had the good fortune of feeling the vibrations from.
Here's a track from the album Volumes 9 & 10 titled "Crawl Home" featuring PJ Harvey.

Some of the Desert Sessions' earlier albums were fucking awesome.
Songs to note:
"Up in Hell"
"Making a Cross"
"Don't Drink Poison"
"Covered in Punk's Blood"
"Creosote"
Before Josh Homme was doing Desert Sessions, he was with a little-known band called Kyuss. These guys have been equated to a mixture of Tool and Black Sabbath. With the song I'm about to post ("Demon Cleaner"), I can understand why people make that analogy. However, what's not widely known is that the album this song comes from Welcome to Sky Valley is fucking amazing. It's only four tracks long. However, each track has three to four songs within it (Josh claims it was to wreak havoc while trying to play it on a CD player... He was right). One of the most memorable songs on there was "Asteroid". The album came with the instructions, "listen without distraction."

"Asteroid" (It's the only copy I could find on teh Tube) - Welcome to Sky Valley

I'll leave you with the last track from Kyuss' first album Wretch called "Stage III"
