Um, that could do with the fact that there's a TV camera in their face. Someone comes along and wants to put them on TV, anything they say is inadmissable anyway, so why not play it up and develop a fanbase, however deeply disturbed.

It's not like they have anything better to do while sitting in a cell.

There's no camera in their face! It's not COPS! Nooooo, this is just your standard, run of the mill, interrogation room video. They even blur out the fool's faces but you can hear them balling like bitches.
