Let's fuck some shit up
What an amazing match! The Azzuri were playing well today. They slacked-off in the last 30 minutes of the match on their defense. Yet, that didn't stop them from letting Iaquinta score a goal in the 83rd minute! Even though it was a great goal with perfect technical skill, it pales in comparison to the fireball Pirlo unleashed in the 40th minute. What a kick! What precision!
The USA may have let me down, but the country that invented the sport and started my love for it, sure didn't.
The mids could've done a better job of congesting the center of the field. Ghana was just waltzing by them with the ball at will. De Rossi seemed to be too nervous to do his job. He may be youthful and inexperienced at World Cup play, but he needs to grow some balls and do his job. The back-field was doing really well, and Buffon was superb as usual.
I thought for sure Italy was going to play like they normally do. Which is to defend, defend, pray for a great set piece, defend, and defend some more. But, when Iaquinta shoved the Ghanian defender out of the way to score that second goal, I was on my feet shouting, "VIA! VIA! VIA!" ('via' is the Italian command word for 'go') at the TV!
Wow...
