Before I would have said yes lets. And I would have said Mexico too. And then I would have said let give them a 99 year commonwealth option and offer them the American Dollar. Of course now we all know the dollar isn't worth the paper it's printed on.

Anyone want to get behind the idea we should offer ourselves as a commonwealth to Canada or Mexico?

I'm going to have to remember where I put my peso converter.
 
Unless I'm mistaken, if we wanted Canada as a commonwealth, we'd have to get the Queen to hand it over. I wonder what she'd take for it?

At this point I have to be careful not to get into a 'does no mean no' thing with Eloisel.
 
Srsly, though. Maybe we could just reason with her, and she might give it to us at a bargain basement price. 'Look, Liz. Canada's freezing cold, it's crawling with French people, what do you want that kind of headache for? We'll be glad to take it off your hands.'

Now that I think about it, taking over canada may be more of a headache than its actually worth.

Actually, I think Consumer could instruct you on the subject of establishing when no means no.

However, before I would support putting forth the effort to annex Canada, someone is going to have to give me a good reason why.

However, if you aren't paying attention, on what are you basing your conclusory statements? Or, are you offering conjecture up as inaccurate analysis?
